Musk alleges that OpenAI has taken proprietary information.

Elon Musk’s xAI startup filed a lawsuit against the competitor OpenAI, alleging theft of their trade secrets. The legal action was initiated in the Federal Court of California amidst the worldwide competition in AI technology advancement.

The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday (24), alleges that OpenAI engaged in a subpar practice by recruiting former XAI employees to obtain confidential information about Grok, Musk’s company’s AI chatbot.

OpenAI focuses on individuals who are familiar with the core technologies and business strategies of xAI. This includes the source code and operational benefits of xAI in setting up data centers, and persuades these employees to breach their confidentiality and other commitments to xAI through unlawful methods.

The companies have not provided any comments on the issue yet.
