Peter Navarro, the White House economic advisor, stated on Friday (26) that President Donald Trump’s recently announced sector-specific tariffs are intended to ensure “national security” and enhance the US supply chain.

The 100% drug tax proposed by Navarro aims to decrease reliance on imported medications, support the local pharmaceutical sector, and lower prices for American consumers.

Heavy trucks are seen as crucial for national security, with mobile tariffs aiming to boost the United States’ international influence, countering the dominance of Asian nations like China, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

Navarro stated that Oracle will serve as a protective barrier for America in the TikTok agreement, aiming to block China from accessing social network databases.

The adviser criticized the Federal Reserve, accusing President Jerome Powell of political interference and proposing consequences for director Lisa Cook over suspected mortgage fraud, which undermines public trust in the institution.
